& VR/INTERACTIVE PANEL

500 videos from 41 countries...and it all comes down to this! We kick off the 2017 LA Music Video Fest with screenings of our finalists, including: A Tribe Called Quest, Paramore, Sylvan Esso, Young Thug, Bastille, Green Day and more.
Then, get your questions ready for our panel of VR experts, presented in partnership with B-Reel. Enjoy hands-on demos of our Interactive/VR music video finalists plus the incredible SPIRIT HOUSE experience from built exclusively for the Gorillaz' first new album in 7 years; along with FEEL IT STILL, the award winning Portugal. The Man interactive video; and some surprises you won't want to miss!

NICK MURPHY (CHET FAKER) PRESENTS "MISSING LINK"

Join us for the world-premiere of Nick Murphy (fka Chet Faker)'s film "MISSING LINK" plus a behind-the-scenes mini-documentary exploring the name change from Chet Faker to Nick Murphy. Followed by a Q&A with Nick Murphy and co-director Johann Rashid.​ More info...

OFFICIAL SELECTIONS & WATSKY LOOKS BACK
7-10PM at the Downtown Independent
Back on the east side of town, we'll be celebrating the music videos of our Closing Night headliner Watsky, along with his long-time collaborator, director Carlos Lopez Estrada.
The evening will also feature screenings of all the Official Selections not in competition. Look out for incredible entries from Fitz & the Tantrums, Metallica, DJ Snake, Justin Bieber, Muse, and Open Mike Eagle, to name a few.

ROLL CALL: WOMEN MAKING MUSIC VIDEOS

Join us for an evening dedicated to the women working in music videos.
First, FREE THE BID presents "Directing Music Videos: Women of Color Behind the Camera," a panel moderated by Kiersey Clemons and Alma Har'el in conversation with Macy Gray and guests. Followed by a screening of standout female-directed submissions and more!

THURSDAY, OCT. 5
ART & COMMERCE: OMG! & COMMISSIONER PANEL
Presented by Hecho en 72
7-10PM at 72andSunny
We're thrilled to partner with 72andSunny's production studio, Hecho en 72, for a really special night; first we'll explore the art of the video, focusing on where the passion for creating comes from. We'll be screening our Student Finalists as well as hosting some of the incredible directors who've donated their time to OMG! Everwhere to help kids harness the power of creativity. Come see their work - both with the kids and with chart-topping musicians.
Next, we'll tackle the business side of videos by welcoming back our annual panel of music video commissioners from major record labels and indies alike. They'll be discussing the state of the music industry and answering your burning music video questions!

FRIDAY, OCT. 6
LAWRENCE ROTHMAN RECORD RELEASE PART
Presented by Downtown Records & Maaven
8-11PM at the Masonic Lodge at Hollywood Forever
Lawrence Rothman and acclaimed film director Floria Sigismondi will be curating a night of immersive visual and sonic allure at the legendary Hollywood Forever Masonic Temple. There will be performance art intertwined with modern dance and interpretive theatre. An unorthodox chaotic spectacle of visual and sound. Taking over every corner of the Masonic Lodge!
Lawrence will cap off the night with an 8 song set of songs of his new album "The Book of Law" featuring special guests and a world-renowned cast of musicians rounding out an 9 piece musical ensemble.

CLOSING NIGHT
BJORK RETROSPECTIVE

& AWARDS
Presented by the Theatre at Ace Hotel

Join us CLOSING NIGHT for our awards ceremony, a special encore presentation of our winning videos, and a mind-bending screening of some of Bjork's most incredible music video creations up on the big screen. Then we'll close out the fest with a one-night-only performance by hip hop artist, author and poet George Watsky, featuring the work of director Carlos Lopez Estrada. Plus special guests. Presented by The Theatre at Ace Hotel.
